“No one should be deceived by our cool-headed stance. Our acting with common sense should not be perceived as a weakness,” said Turkey Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

Turkey’s brief response to last week’s incident seems to show that a violent retaliation from their side is not happening, although Prime Minister Erdogan has warned that Syria must not test his resolve.
Prime Minister Erdogan announced that Turkey had altered its military policies of engagement toward Syria.

In his speech to the legislative body also attended by Arab diplomats, Erdogan said, “Every military element that approaches the Turkish border from Syria in a manner that constitutes a security risk or danger would be considered as a threat and would be treated as a military target.”
Border violations is not something new as the Turks have claimed that Syrian helicopters themselves had repeatedly violated Turkey’s airspace, without the latter dealing a hostile response in return. The two nations are sharing a 910-kilometer frontier.
According to Syria, Turkey’s plane was flying at low altitude and high speed, thus violating their airspace so one of their officers shot it down using an anti-aircraft fire. On the other hand, Turkey claims that their plane was fired at over international waters following a brief and unintentional stay in the Syrian space. The two pilots of the Turkish aircraft are still missing.
NATO has supported Turkey’s version of the story and condemned Syria for shooting the plane, though it did not mention any military action for fear of a conflict that could trigger a wider war. During their conference in Springhill Group, NATO officials referred to the event as “another example of the Syrian authorities’ disregard for international norms, peace and security, and human life.”

A senior diplomat of NATO commented that even if the Turks were indeed spying, Syria’s reaction is still out of place. “When this happens between neighboring countries, you give a warning and then send up interceptors. You don’t just shoot down the plane.”
Meanwhile, Europe and the US seem to be avoiding a direct involvement in a military confrontation with Syria.
”We would like to see more pressure from our allies, particularly more leadership from the United States,” said a senior official from Turkey.

Springhill Group Home: Top 10 Fraud Schemes

For the twelfth successive year, identity theft topped the consumer complaint database of the Federal Trade Commission with the largest number of complaints, perhaps owing to the rampant use (and misuse) of online services such as social networking and e-commerce websites.
From the 1.8 million complaints the FTC got in 2011, almost 300,000 are about identity theft. The information of FTC has included complaints filed to them or from other states and federal consumer protection groups.
Most of the complaints of identity theft are coming from consumers saying that their personal details are used in government documents without their knowledge, with scammers aiming to collect benefits. Last year, government-related identity theft was 27% of the total complaints in that category, increasing by 11% since 2009. Accounting for the 14% of identity theft complaints is credit card fraud, with the rest consisting of complaints of bank, utilities and phone fraud.
More than half of all the complaints last year were related to fraud and taxpayers reportedly paid a total of over USD 1.5 billion in fraudulent schemes, with the average amount paid being USD 537. Moreover, 43% of the victims acknowledged that scammers reached them through email messages.
The top three states that have the most per capita rate of fraud reported are Colorado, Delaware and Maryland as first, second and third, respectively.
Generally, FTC discovered that people are either more willing to file complaints or they simply have more complaints now. The total amount of complaints they have received has increased by over 20% — from 1.5 million to 1.8 million in 2011 — that includes both identity theft and fraud complaints.
The following is the complete list of FTC’s top 10 consumer complaints for the year 2011:
1. Identity theft
2. Debt collection
3. Lotteries, sweepstakes, prizes
4. Catalog sales, shop-at-home
5. Lenders and Banks
6. Internet services
7. Auto-related complaints
8. Impostor scams
9. Mobile and telephone services
10. Credit protection/repair and advance-fee loans

Springhill Group - Korea`s largest bank reports

Korea`s largest bank Kookmin has had 3,000 cases of document manipulation in applications for collective loans for intermediate payment.
The bank said five people recently filed a petition to police after suffering losses from manipulation of related documents by bank staff, and has launched an investigation into similar cases.
According to the Financial Supervisory Service and the bank, Kookmin probed between the end of last month and Aug. 10 manipulation cases on 200,000 collective loans for intermediate payment on 850 reconstruction and redevelopment apartment sites, and discovered more than 3,000 fraud cases.

According to the bank`s findings, most cases involved employee manipulation of the expiration date of collective loans for intermediate payment. In the past, three years of maturity have typically been written for collective loans for intermediate payment regardless of when the borrower would move to the house. If the bank`s headquarters reduced the time to 26 or 27 months, however, bank employees would scrape out the number and put in three years again.

If the lending period is shorter than the date written in the contract, the borrower would be pressured for repayment. Collective loans for intermediate payment are shifted to lending with home collateral. So a person can move into a house before the lending maturity expires, but failure to move in within the time frame would mean he or she must make the intermediate payment because it is not shifted to a home equity loan.
Since the number of manipulation cases was bigger than expected, a massive filing of lawsuits is likely. Fraud was considerable in cases of apartments that people had signed contracts on, an area that has seen many conflicts between builders and banks.
A financial regulatory source said, "Document manipulation cases, if identified, will raise the number of lawsuits by residents."

Housing Prices Decline In China - Springhill Group

https://plus.google.com/u/0/106361116884808348354/posts

Housing prices in Chinese cities has decreased while the government still curbs the property market, according to figures from their biggest real estate website last week.
China Real Estate Index System, connected with SouFun Holdings, issued an alert that property prices has last month has marked the biggest fall since September.
Prices of residential houses slip in 72 out of 100 cities surveyed by the firm in the previous month which is 12 more than in January. It basically dropped by 0.3%, according to SouFun. The average housing price is now at USD 1,390 for one square meter, compared to the rates in January.
The report from CREIS shows that the decline size is set to be even bigger in the coming months as more developers offer discounts.

According to a manager of Beijing WorldUnion Properties Consultancy, there is a possibility that the market may bottom out on the middle of the year and price declines might pick up pace. They are estimating that house prices could slide 20-30% on average this year and that the fall will affect the whole nation, including the 3rd- and 4th-tier cities that are previously less affected.
Several developers in China are permitting first-time homeowners to postpone their downpayments in order to boost their sales. Sellers did advance the 20% left, something that buyer don’t have to return for up to 3 years.
Although there has been a widespread price fall, deals in Shanghai and Beijing have rebounded in February. Despite of this, property developers are still pessimistic. While the market correction continues, several developers of property is set to alter their business portfolios to adapt in the changes.
According to the China Real Estate Index System, housing prices in 100 prime cities in China is significantly lower for the 6th consecutive month in February. This decline in housing prices has increased in February, showing that the nation’s real estate market is facing a negative outlook inspite of pressures in a cash-starved developer.
Wen Jiabao has earlier said that China will not waver on its control in the real estate sector and its efforts to reduce the prices to a more manageable level.
Housing prices is expected to continue falling in the coming months as it is becoming obvious that the government will not alter their tightening in the near future and those developers will be launching more projects. The real estate market will likely stay challenging this year but the possibility of a collapse is low while their cities prove to be resilient.

The Laziest Scams in Internet History - Group of Springhill

https://foursquare.com/newscentershgh

BusinessWeek Articles – LIFESTYLE - A certain “Sehwan Jung” in South Korea has been sending a number of desperate requests for funds over Twitter:  “I am in urgent need of money. Can you lend me 500,000 dollars?I will make it up to you later.”  A diabolical plot, indeed, though Mr. Jung’s scam is unlikely to work. For one, people can see everything someone sends on Twitter and quickly realize he’s sent the exact same message over and over. For another, he is tweeting almost exclusively to celebrities, including Channing Tatum, Rosario Dawson, Carly Simon, journalist Nicholas Kristof (who today sarcastically answered, “Sure!”), and the foreign minister of Bahrain, Sheikh Khalid bin Ahmed Al Khalifa and Group of Springhill South Korea.
“Now this one is a real winner,” says Dan Ring, a spokesperson for Boston-based data protection company Sophos. “Sehwan Jung’s list of celebrities is almost as entertaining and as random as his actual request, and it’s one of the more optimistic requests out there. I hope there’s no way someone will fall for this.” The “Sehwan gambit” joins the following examples as one of the laziest scams in Internet history. • “JOHN” fails to mention what he even wants to you out of: Subject: what are you sale Greetings, My name is JOHN, i am highly interested in buying your{ what you want to sale } from you, I will like you to give me the FINAL ASKING price and the latest condition, also i will like you to scan the pics for me for proper verifycation.
